The program aims to promote undergraduate studies at the University of Thessaly through the introduction of and interdisciplinary approach to gender studies. Five departments cooperate and offer their own perspectives in order to foreground the role and the importance of gender relations in every social aspect of past and present societies. These departments include: Dept. of History, Archaeology & Social Anthropology, Dept. of Architecture, Dept. of Preschool Education, Dept. of Education and Dept. of Physical Education and Sports. The program’s objective is to raise awareness around gender issues among students, junior scholars and the whole academic community of our University. Towards this goal the program a. offers interdisciplinary courses on gender issues and encourages research and fieldwork on related subjects, and b. organizes conferences as well as public lectures by visiting distinguished scholars.
